Most progressive extended health benefit plans do cover massage therapy treatments when provided by a Registered Massage Therapist and most do not require a physician’s order to do so. Most plans require that the covered individual pay for the treatment and submit the expense for reimbursement.

Massage Therapy can be used for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. RMTs can work with a wide variety of patients, of all ages, in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability.
Registered Massage Therapists today use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy to combine traditional Swedish and modern massage therapy techniques with other therapies to treat their clients.
RMTs are licensed under the Health Professions Act which ensures that the public receives safe and ethical care by establishing and enforcing standards of education and quality of practice by all RMTs.
OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a type of alternative medicine that emphasizes manual readjustments, myofascial release and other physical manipulation of muscle tissue and bones. Osteopathy is a hands on, holistic form of treatment, assessing the whole body. By regarding body, mind and soul as a unit, Osteopathy is concerned with a person-centred health care rather than disease-centered.
Most progressive extended health benefit plans do cover osteopathy treatments.
