What to expect

The massage stimulates the immune system, speeding up the elimination of toxins from the lymph vessels. Your lymphatic system is one of the most important and yet most neglected systems. It transports food, oxygen, water, and waste for every cell in the body. Stagnation in the lymphatic system affects the whole body and can contribute to edema (water retention), obesity, ulceration, and toxicity.

It is a gentle massage, as the lymphatic system is just below the skin, that works the ducted areas (such as the armpits and pantyline ) and surfaces (such as face, chest, abdomen, buttocks, and limbs) of the body. The rolling and rocking action encourages the movement of the lymph and is very relaxing.

  • Please wear underwear you don’t mind getting a little massage oil on.

  • There will be a short intake at the beginning of your first session.

  • Please arrive well hydrated and no heavy meals beforehand as the treatment stimulates the stomach, gallbladder, and liver.

  • No exercise before or after the treatment – it is counterproductive.

  • If you would like to use the sauna, it is recommended that you use them after, not before, your Lymphatic Drainage massage.

  • Stay well hydrated afterwards and rest – feeling tired after your treatment is normal and part of the detoxification process.

Contraindications

• Cancer – unless in remission for at least 2 years.
• Pregnancy in the third trimester.
