A natural detox – move over toxins

The rolling and kneading of the bamboo sticks stimulate and heat the body, dissipating accumulated toxins. The enhanced circulation moving through the body, especially the heart and lungs, helps to remove stagnant toxins. Similarly, it improves lymphatic drainage and the removal of excess fluids.

Bamboo massage is thus a perfect massage treatment as part of a detox and/or weight loss program.

Modelling Massage has a mix of health benefits. The treatment improves the body as a whole by using a a wonderfully effective combination of manual and bamboo stick techniques which stimulate the lymphatic system. It is intended to eliminate excess liquids and toxins, strengthen the immune system, and increase oxygen in the tissues. It also improves circulation, as the masseuse uses specific movements and gentle pressure to reduce fluid retention.

Modelling Massage, executed firmly and quickly can reduce cellulitis, regenerate tissues, relax muscles, improve skin appearance, and assist with overall toning of the body. Bamboo massage can also help with weight loss by breaking down fat cells.

How it works

This ancient therapy is divided into two steps:

Step One – Manual Modelling Massage
Step Two – Bamboo Sticks

In the first step, manual lymphatic drainage is performed in order to stimulate and power up the lymphatic system. During the therapy, the accumulated lymph in the cells is routed out of the body by stimulating the lymph nodes. The masseuse uses specific movements from points all along the lymphatic system to the right lymphatic duct and the thoracic duct where lymphatic fluid is eliminated, returning it to the bloodstream via the right and left subclavian veins.

Fast and firm strokes are used with the goal of shaping the body, a technique which improves the appearance of the skin, tones, and contours the body, and prevents and reduces cellulitis. This massage redistributes the corporeal contours, improving circulation and oxygenating the tissues.

For the second step, bamboo massage is typically done with a hollow organically-treated bamboo cane of different lengths and diameters which is warmed or used at room temperature. Longer sticks of various widths are used for gliding strokes, whereas smaller tools can be used for more detailed work. The canes are used as a tool in all aspects of massage. The bamboo cane replaces the hand of the therapist as it is able to give a deeper, firmer massage. The cane is held by the therapist and rolled over the muscle with the same strokes they would use with their hands. The muscle is then kneaded, which assists in releasing tension and easing knots.

The massage improves circulation and sensory nerve perception. Tissue stimulation by the bamboo sticks dissipate heat that results from an accumulation of toxins and poor circulation. A wonderful massage with powerful healing and detoxifying benefits, it also provides a deep sense of relaxation and serenity.

This massage has the ability to lift the buttocks up and helps to noticeably reshape the contours of the body. This treatment on a monthly basis along with a healthy diet and exercise can be a step in the right direction for anyone!
